ESWN on the Water Crisis in Harbin - Must Read

ESWN's collection of "government announcements, overseas website reports, local BBS posts and email from local observers coming in English or translated from Chinese" on the water crisis and river pollution in Harbin makes a great background reading to the stack of news reports by international media.

What happened in Harbin in the last couple of days was just insane.

Update: Here is a look at how Chinese newspapers on mainland China and Hong Kong react to incident. Right now, I am more concerned about on how well is the government handling the situation. Will they be able to carry out an accurate environmental impact assessment and come up with the right measures to protect people's health as well as minimize further environmental damages.
