Wikipedia Blocked Again in China

Global Voices Online: "Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia based on collaboration and participation is now blocked in many areas in China."

I wonder whether this had to do with a Chinese entry on the Taishi Village leader impeachment - a rather comphrehensive chronology of events that took place in the past few months, written largely in a neutral tone and constantly updated, based on news sources from both inside as well as outside China.

Update: According to United Daily News, a Taipei-based Chinese language news daily, Chinese ISPs said that the ban was ordered by China's National Security Unit. Chinese users in both mainland China and Taiwan fear that if the ban becomes permanent, it would pose the biggest crisis for "Chinese knowledge accumulation."

Danwei: "A Chinese blogger named shizhao writing on CNblog.org says that he has information that Wikipedia will be unblocked by Wednesday this week."
