When the internet and physical space intersects

Looking at this mobile application of wikipedia reminds me of an idea I had about five years ago. (I feel somewhat embarrassed by what I wrote then...)

It's just incredible how fast technology has evolved. I think very very soon,
blog and/or wiki + podcast (mp3s and videos) + geotagging + google map + a mobile device = ubiquitious living digital musuem of the places we live.

In fact, there is already a similar mobile application in action albeit at prototype stage. Watch this and a whole other lot from the Urban Tapestries project. They are truely inspiring in terms of what the future holds.
