English Translation of "Hong Kong, Where Are You Heading To?"
ESWN has translated LUNG Yingtai's "Hong Kong, where are you heading to? Some Biased Observations About Hong Kong Cultural Policy and Civil Society" into English - an essay that I pointed to earlier, but couldn't translate it. (It is a very long essay and there are many words that I couldn't find an English equivalent for.)
Anyway, many thanks to ESWN for making the essay available in anglosphere.
As he points out: "The importance of this article is that it extends the debate beyond the realm of pure economic benefits into the cultural identity of Hong Kong. The article does not provide all the answers, but any attempt to criticise, revise or rebut is going to require you to formulate your own answers."
It has been "plastered over all the local BBS's and forums with extensive discussions" but has not been seen in English-language media, ESWN says.
