Movie Review: The Day After Tomorrow

The Day After Tomorrow. Very well designed computer graphics and visual effects througout the entire movie. Some scenes, notably one of the first ones on a U.N. Climate Change Conference, were well researched. The movie shows the dire consequences of global climate change - in a very dramatic way as in any typical Hollywood movie.

There are many different predictions on what would happen to the world when temperature continues to rise and ice melts in both poles. The last I heard was many island nations (also developing countries) we know of today would be wiped out by a rising sea level; Europe's temperature will drop significantly thus impacting on its agriculture output; and temperature in United States will rise for several degress...

Update: [via CSR Asia] David Griggs, director of Britain’s Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research said that the "average temperature of major Asian cities could rise by 3-10 degrees C. There will be more heatwaves, more warm nights and land areas will warm quicker than the global average, he said speaking to the Asia Business Council. Sea levels will rise between 9 cm and 88 cm with both more floods and more droughts. It is time for businesses to take more of a lead on issues of climate change. To put it bluntly, if they do not, then they are taking huge risks."
