Looking at the U.S. Electoral Map

Update: Even more disturbing is this map from the USA Today (via Scripting News)

Looking at the U.S. electoral map on CNN.com this morning, I realized how little I know about the American people. The red states made up a large part of the country. They are mostly located in the middle and not on the coast of the country. What do people in the red states (or the other side of America that I don't quite know) think and value?
