American businessman wins MacArthur prize for helping free Chinese dissidents

[via Peking Duck] "Business people can contribute to the advance of human rights in ways previously thought not possible, notably by collecting information on political prisoners and advocating their release to officials of countries where they trade and invest," John Kamm, former president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and now executive director of San Francisco-based Dui Hua Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving human rights by means of a well-informed dialogue conducted between the United States and China, said when he recently received the "genius award" from the well respected MacArthur Foundation.

It's inspiring as the Peking Duck says and I totally agree.
